The Hottest Cabinet Trends to Consider in Your Kitchen Remodel

Looking to improve your kitchen? One of the toughest decisions you have to make is how to design your cabinets.

Remodel Your Kitchen with The Hottest Trends in Cabinets Today

Talk to kitchen remodel experts in Atlanta about the best option for your home. These popular cabinet trends may just give you the right inspiration.

Two Tones

White cabinets have been all the rage in the last few years. This no longer appears to be the case today. While white is still a great neutral option, many homeowners now combine it with other colors, such as gray or black, for a two-tone look.

The trend is to use white or another lighter shade for upper cabinets, and gray, black, or any darker shade for lower cabinets. This not only makes for great aesthetics, but itโ€™s highly practical, as well. Lower cabinets tend to get dirty more easily so a darker shade can better disguise the mess.

The light and dark combination is not limited to top and bottom cabinets only. For a modern, vibrant look, you may also use them alternately on side-by-side cabinets.

Transitional styles

Essentially, a transitional kitchen cabinet is one that combines traditional and modern design elements. For example, you may have a traditional finish by using warm, textured wood, but have a sleek construction without ornate details. Or you can finish a natural texture with a contemporary dark color.

The best thing about a transitional cabinet is that you can readily switch from one look to another by making easy changes, such as painting it a different color or changing the hardware. Itโ€™s also a great way to give your kitchen an updated look without straying too far from whatโ€™s safe and traditional.

Open shelving

If youโ€™re the highly organized type with no clutter to hide, then this kitchen cabinet trend is for you. Open shelves are perfect in a minimalist kitchen with an airy feel. Theyโ€™re typically used to replace upper cabinets, and are a great way to display and access your everyday items. Theyโ€™re not recommended, however, for storing fragile items, such as your heirloom china.

Glass panels

Where should you store your precious china? In glass paneled cabinets, of course. These not only keep more delicate items safe, theyโ€™re also the perfect way to show them off.

Glass panels are excellent transitional solutions that go well with traditional and contemporary kitchensโ€”or something in-between. If you need a less transparent covering to hide some clutter, opt for frosted glass.

Ornate hardwareโ€”or no hardware

Accented hardware is a fast and easy way to add character to your kitchen. It can give your cabinets an entirely new look on its own, making it a quick and inexpensive hack.

On the other end of the spectrum, people who love the minimalist aesthetic are doing away with cabinet hardware altogether. Hands-free cabinets are becoming quite the rage in modern kitchens, giving off a clean, sleek look. Your options include hidden handles, touch-release mechanisms, and cutouts.

Cabinets are important elements in your kitchen, and should be designed with function and aesthetics in mind. Fortunately, you have plenty of options to choose from. Find one that helps bring your kitchen together and reflects your personal taste and lifestyle.
