Quick Tips on Surviving and Thriving During Kitchen Remodeling

There’s one thing you should be aware of when planning a kitchen remodeling: it won’t happen overnight. No matter how fast your remodelers move and work, the demolition and reconstruction would still affect your daily life. It might take four to eight weeks to complete depending on the scale of the job. This means that you won’t have a proper kitchen for the duration of the construction.

Don’t worry too much, though. There are quick life hacks you can use to ensure that you and your family remain full and happy throughout the project. You don’t have to eat out every time just because you don’t have a fully functioning kitchen yet. You just have to be smart and creative when thinking of ways to prepare meals without getting in the way of the construction. This saves a lot of time and money. It also allows you to enjoy the entire process.

The Key to Working Your Way Around a Major Kitchen Remodeling Project

Set Up a Kitchen Stand-In

Find a spot away from the construction area to put up a temporary kitchen. If you don’t have a morning kitchen or a guesthouse, you can use the basement, workroom, or the garage. Bring portable tables, storage crates, folding chairs, and standalone shelves to have a place for all the necessary equipment and utensils. Doing this will help you make school lunches, snacks, and coffee without being disturbed by the renovation.

Tone the Cooking Down a Bit

Even if you love to cook, you may have to adjust your eating routine a bit since ambitious meals will be challenging to prepare without a proper kitchen. It’s best to store some of your cooking utensils and and only use what that you really need.

You can, for the meantime, probably do away with food processors, waffle irons, and other equipment you seldom use. You can make up for all the cooking time you’ve lost when the new kitchen is ready. In fact, you can definitely do more once it’s all set and revamped.

Take Advantage of the Grill

This is the time to realize the magic of your grill. It can do almost everything that an oven can. From roasting meat and vegetables to baking pizza and warming foil-packet meals, you have a wide range of options. You can even treat a simple lunch like a barbecue party or a picnic with your family.

You will never go hungry despite the kitchen remodeling happening in your house. It’s actually an adventure you can enjoy with your family, especially when working with reliable remodelers who can make the work less of a hassle for you.
